When is the best time to start buying little things for baby

I had someone tell me not to buy anything till after my 19 week anatomy scan. But it kind of bothered me because I’m trying to be as positive as possible with this pregnancy after having a miscarriage two years ago I am 15 weeks pregnant almost and I’m getting a 3-D scan on Sunday to give me a really gender reveal,It really bothers me because I like to be positive at least as much as I can. One of my sister in laws had a terrible experience at 20 weeks , her baby wasn’t developing it’s heart and kidneys properly, and today I told her about the 3-d early gender and she was so so ... terribly negative about me buying anything for my baby until 20 weeks🙁and made me very nervous like my baby isn’t okay 😐🙁!! Can someone please tell me when they chose to get a few things for there baby , I need positivity right now !!!no I mean no negative comments !!

Start buying whenever you want! I’m 18 weeks and have heaps already. No way am I doing heaps of shopping when I’m 30+ weeks. I had a miscarriage last year and am very aware things can go wrong, but they can go wrong at anytime so enjoy it all anyway because it more likely things will go well. Sounds like your sister in law is probably still dealing with her own stuff and probably means well

I just bought my first items for my baby boy the same day I found out the gender. I am 18 weeks. I did buy my car seat that was unisex a week ago. I had a miscarriage last year at 17 weeks I am just now now really feeling comfortable with this pregnancy and feeling baby moving daily

I had a loss last year at 16 weeks and it was really hard on me. I had just picked out my nursery theme and was about to shop shop shop. I had a few things bought already and a few gifts. It was really hard to pack all these things I bought and were given to me away afterwards so I made the decision this pregnancy to wait until 24 weeks to buy anything and have asked my family to do the same. That just how I’m handling it personally but I still Pinterest and screenshot and plan and I too am trying to be as positive as possible. However, I completely disagree with somebody telling you that you should do the same. I would have been offended as well because every experience is different and you can’t project your own feelings on to somebody else. I would never suggest what I’m doing to another pregnant woman, but I am doing it because it’s what is best for ME and MY peace of mind. Nest woman! Anyway you know how and want. 
Also, despite it being hard to pack all that stuff away I’m thankful I had a few things to put a memory box together for him but this time I’m looking forward to not having to experience that.

I didn’t buy anything till after 20 weeks and that was only because we were moving and I didn’t wanna carry more with us than needed. That was with my first. I haven’t brought anything yet cause we still have a lot and I just frankly haven’t gone looking yet from being so sick and managing a crazy 16 month old. But you buy whenever you feel is right, because there is no right time. There’s no point living in fear of something potentially going wrong when more than likely everything is going to be fine!

You can always buy what I consider essentials before you buy anything gender related.
Essentials are:
Binkies
bottles,
Wipes
Diapers
Gripe water
Baby chest rub(prepare for colds now vs when they are sick and miserable and you are grouchy, sleep deprived and frantic)
Baby Tylenol
Saline drops
Teething oil (punkin butt)
Amber necklace (3rd kid. They work)
Lotion
Shampoo
All give you the urge to shop and prepare for baby (and are important in the long run) without buying big gender products. I also bought a naked boppy (can buy a specific cover later.. or make my own), a newborn lounger in gender neutral print. I also have Lillebaby carrier (baby and toddler), 1 happy baby wrap, a woven wrap, and a 7yr old ergo my husband likes.

I started buying little things at the 14/15 wks mark. Nothing serious, just little toys or outfits that I really liked. I'm saving bigger purchases for after the 20 wk mark but I've started baby registries to gear up for it 😁 Really though if you want to start buying things then do, it's really just a matter of what you're comfortable with.

Girll!! Every pregnancy is different. Don’t let someone bring you down because they had a bad experience! If your ready to start baby shopping then go for it!! I started baby shopping with my first as soon as I found out he was a boy. I also had a 3D ultrasound at 13 wks and it was clear as day.. it was game on from there! Do whatever makes you happy.! This is your time, don’t let ANYBODY tell you whats right for you

with my 1st I started to buy stuff after my 12week scan then after 20week when I found out he was a boy boy bits lol but this time (currently 15 weeks) I'm waiting till after 20week scan but only because my 1st was born with clubfoot which was picked up on 20 week scan and if this baby has it to I don't need baby grows unless the footless that's only reason I'm personally waiting 😂😂 buy stuff when u want sod everyone else your baby x

You do you! I already have some of the bigger things for the nursery. Not everybody can wait till 30 weeks to go buy everything and decorate. At the end of the day it’s your house and your baby.
