GBS? Group B Strep?

A nurse called me and said I had GBS from the urine sample from my first appointment. I think I remember them testing me for this with my first pregnancy and it was negative but I’m not 100% that’s what is was. They did prescribe me medicine but I’m still worried. Does anyone else have this and should I be super super worried?

I had it with my son and they gave me penicillin in my IV during delivery, 1 in 4 people have it. It's benign to us, but can cause breathing issues for a baby that is delivered vaginally if they contract it. It's easy enough to just get the antibiotic and have it treated, nothing to worry about.

Hi. I dont think you should be worried. My daughter is now 8 and at that time they said it was nothing to worry about some people have it some people dont. They gave me antibiotics during delivery to protect my daughter. It isnt anything harmful just a bacteria found on the skin. i hope this makes you feel better ❤
