bottle feeding issues

I started out breastfeeding for a week and due to a lot of issues had to stop...baby is now bottle and formula fed is gaining weight and doing great according to doctor... I have questions about bottles and nipples tho. so far I've tried Tommie tippie closer to nature, Phillip avent natural and nuk simple nature bottles. my baby boy has a good latch or at least on the breast he did n seems to on the bottle as well but every feeding milk comes out the sides of his mouth runs down his chin and soaks the rag I have to place under his chin to help not get all over his clothes. I've tried different nipple flows thinking that may have been the issue... any body else having this issue with bottle feeding or is my child just a messy eater?
