Ladies, BV Help?!

Soo, my boyfriend recently has told me that I’ve had a “sour/bad” smell down there. I’ve struggled with bv in the past, and I’m so tired of recurrent infections!! He is a mechanic/ small engine business owner and does not wash his hands every time after working/ before sexy time, which I’m assuming thats NOT helping either. I’m scheduling an appointment with my Gyno. But what have you done to prevent recurrent infections?

ive never had bv but have gotten yeast infections before. I use vh essentials suppositories. Cleared my infection up in a day! Also, many women have sworn by them for BV use in the product reviews. Seems to help tremendously and its only about $5 on amazon :)

I've had this issue recently.  i'm in a new relationship and i'm my previous relationship my boyfriend was sleeping with someone else.  let's just say all that secretion didn't mix well.  I kept bacterial infections.  So now it's carried over in the new relationship.  My dr treated me and it came back. I talked to her again and she said i'm going to treat your partner also. Why? Bcuz if we're having unprotected sex and i'm being treated, he is now a carrier.  He's going to keep reinfecting me.  Issue solved! Plus incorporate yogurt and probiotics in your diet.  It helps with the healthy bacteria down there.

For starters, you should definitely talk to him and tell them that you appreciate when he washes himself/ his hands before touching you. My husband is also a mechanic and he makes sure his hands and body are clean and that his nails are cut before touching me. Lots of bacteria are embedded under the nails and I know how stained their hands can get, but at least tell him to make an effort to keep them cut and cleaned.

do not let him touch your genitals with dirty hands! i dated a mechanic. i told him he had to wash his hands as thoroughly as possible. also, always make sure to pee after he touches you. their hands are sooooo dirty

He definitely needs to wash his hands before he’s touching you down there! You could try to change some of you’re normal routine and see if it helps anything.  I used to get BV every single time we had unprotected sex but I seem to have got past that now.  I also get it if I use any scented products in the bath (Just bubbles in the water can cause it for me).  If you use any perfumed things that may get into contact down there try cut them out and see if anything changes, but I definitely think those dirty hands are part of the problem.
