when do I test for ovulation?

is it right after you're period? or when the app says I'm ovulating? 
please some advice from experienced mamas that have been ttc and using the strips etc!

I usually ovulate on CD14-16, so I start testing CD10-12.

I generally ovulate on CD13 so I start testing CD7-8 and start the BD that day and stop around CD15.
