My Dr doesn't even give it unless nothing else works she gave my diclegis and it seems to work for me. She said Zofran is a last case senario

I've taken zofran a few times and researched it thoroughly before taking. My doc thinks the class action lawsuits are garbage. They cannot ethically do tests on pregnant women, which is why we end up with warning labels on everything. The first test claimed there was a loose correlation between zofran and birth defects and a more intensive study a few years ago showed no higher instance than the control group. The bottom line is, millions of women take zofran each each, some by IV, some round the clock during their entire pregnancy with no birth defects. I know women personally who have done this. There is no definitive correlation. If you are suffering with nausea, you should not let those commercials scare you.

Honestly I can see some legitimacy when zophran was taken in the FIRST trimester, when defects are forming. But my best friend took it after 5 months for the rest of her pregnancy (even had an iv drip of it during labor) and her son is perfect.

A good friend of mine is a neonatal nurse and she told me when I first got pregnant to not take zofran unless I couldn't keep down liquids and was getting dehydrated. To try everything else first. She said she's seen crazy defects from women who relied on zofran for first trimester nausea.

My doctor gave me zofran to try first. Worked like a charm and I've had practically no ms! Thank god!

I would say that yes many women take it with no ill effects to their babies but on the off chance that it could really be causing birth defects, try EVERYTHING ELSE first. I wouldn't take those chances personally. I just know if something did happen, I'd blame myself for the rest of my life.
