How important is trust in a relationship?

I think that it’s important but I don’t think it’s the MOST important thing, I’ve always had trust issues and I think you should work towards trust and earn it. You don’t trust strangers- they have to earn it. So when you get into a relationship even if you don’t trust them it’s okay because in time getting to know them you will either trust them or not trust them depending on their actions. Just my opinion though.

Disagree. I think trust is one of the most important things. When you go into a relationship you should trust your partner until they give you a reason not to.

It is the most important thing to me. As someone who’s been in a relationship without trust in the past, I would NEVER date someone i don’t trust again. And if I ever doubted my trust in my SO, I would leave him. If I thought he didn’t trust me, I would leave. So many people use “trust issues” as an excuse to emotionally abuse their SO (not saying you are). Here’s an idea: if you don’t trust someone, DONT DATE THEM

It is the most important thing. I don’t want to be doubting everything he does and I don’t want to be questioned for everything I do. He knows I have values and I know he loves me and respects me. If I didn’t know this I would leave. If this respect is broken I would leave. 
A person who doesn’t trust is bringing negativity to the relationship. Always questioning and being jealous.

Mm, trust is number one. If I don’t trust the person there’s no way I could be in a relationship with them or even start a relationship.

And we do trust strangers every day. We send our kids off to daycares, school busses, school, we trust strangers at banks/grocery stores with our money, and we trust complete strangers to make our food at restaurants
