So that’s how it works - OPKs

Mimi

I just wanted to post about my first time experience w OPKs. Just in case anyone else was as confused as I was about how it works.

It sounded like some women were ovulating earlier or later than the app says. So I started testing the day my period ended. It was all very faint test lines and only got darker around day 14. I suggest testing daily just to make sure you’re not ovulating later/earlier. Then the following months you can test around that time to save on $$.

So it turns out the app’s prediction is spot on. I got a positive opk day before predicted ovulation. I was also worried I would miss the “surge” and not get a positive test. I started testing 2-3x a day. Turns out that’s pretty unnecessary as the “surge” is not as dramatic as I imagined. It’s pretty hard to miss since the test line is pretty dark regardless of time of day/water intake.

Also, I didn’t bother listening to the part of the instruction that said sample has to be 15-30°c. I just went ahead and tested whatever temp it came out, that was it.

I hope I helped some of you ladies out there! Baby dust to all!
