Hi everyone. After having some early spotting I went to my OB early and got repeat bloods and an early ultrasound. My HCG levels went from 200 to 6000 in a week. I was a twin but my twin didn't make it to term and I don't know if they were identical or fraternal. The ultrasound was done 5 weeks 4 days. Is it possible there are two gestational sacs and one got missed or are we looking at a single or identical twins?

I guess it is possible because they missed a second sac on my first ultrasound but my second sac was much smaller and wasn’t viable and also I had 2 babies in one sac and they almost missed baby b in 2 separate scans they had to search hard

No sign of twins there, at least not in this early ultrasound... fraternal twins will have 2 black spaces on the scan, and I don’t think identical twins are hereditary, so it’s likely to be just one baby.

definately not fraternal. there would be two black spaces.  i dont even see 1 baby so  its prab 1 and just too soon to see if it is 2 i would say identical because i think you would be able to see fraternal in this pic

this was almost 8 weeks for mine but you can clearly see both sacs! HCG levels aren't always a tell of twins. But at 5w5d approximately my levels were at almost 45 thousand!
