implant and pregnancy

hey all, I'm just looking to see if anyone has experienced a pregnancy while on the implant bc? my cycle is 3 weeks late and I'm only now experiencing some super light spotting. my bc ends in aug. I went to the doctor to get a blood test and they refused to give me one because I haven't had a positive home test. and the np just flat out told me "even if you happen to be pregnant, the birth control will kill the baby anyway"... I'm getting the implant taken out in a couple weeks.
