experiences with nexplanon???

Question

I’ve never went on birth control before but a lot of my friends use nexplanon and say it works well. I don’t wanna use the pill bc i know i’ll forget to take it some days and I also have heard some really bad horror stories with the IUD. So i feel like the implant is the only decent option, does anyone have it or had it at one point?? I’m scared about getting really bad periods that never end and really bad acne because i looked it up and a lot of people said that, and they also said they got bad mood swings and depression. Can anyone give me advice on this? And could anyone tell me if they’ve gotten any good effects from nexplanon??

I’m on Nexplanon now and have been for about a year. I haven’t had bad acne, but my periods are just a nightmare. They are completely random and sometimes last two days and sometimes last a month. I’m currently two and a half weeks into my most recent period. It drives me up the wall. I never know when it’s coming and I never know when I’ll stop bleeding. It’s awful. 
I’ve heard that some people level off after around a year, so I’m hoping for that, but the implant was my only option really. 
I got it because my job has awful health coverage and I was turning 26 and was getting kicked off my mom’s insurance. I needed a long-term birth control to have time to find a job that covers things better. I started off trying the IUD but when I went in it turned out (after several attempts and excruciating pain) that my uterus is shaped in a way that it would not go in. So the implant was the only long-term choice I had left. 
I already struggle with depression, but I don’t know that the implant has made it any worse? It’s definitely not any better.

Had it in for 18 months. In all that time I only bled twice, each time for about 3 days. My skin was dreadful during that time but it was a small price to pay for never having to worry about periods... or getting pregnant! Got it out in February and skin has only just normalised there a couple of weeks ago. Trying for a baby since April and currently 3 days late ... fingers crossed!

Not everyone’s experience with Nexplanon will be the same!!! 
I have periods every 4-6 weeks. And when I do, it lasts about 3 weeks. When I have my period, it’s SUPER~~~~ light. I had no weight gain and no acne besides the occasional pimple because I got too lazy to properly wash my face with regular soap daily. I’ve had my implant for about 13 months now.

I had it for about two years. I had horrible periods before. The pill never helped. Nexplanon was amazing after about a month of funky moods and random spotting. No acne! Period completely disappeared (which I loved!) Only had it removed in anticipation of trying for a baby sometime soon. This is the only birth control I recommend to friends.

I recently just got it!! I thought it would hurt getting it inserted but it was relatively painless ive had it about 3 1/2 weeks 
So far I can say apparently I’ve been in a better mood and you don’t need to worry about pills everyday!!

I had this twice the first time was perfect no probs but it mo Ed up into my armpit (due to the type of training I used to do) so had it removed. However the second time lasted 6 months and then i had removed. The first 3 months fine but then my breasts became constantly swollen and sore and also had periods all over the place. So itshit and miss give it a go if you don't like it try something new x
