Paragaurd IUD

Hey guys I've had my paragaurd IUD since about January (2017) and for the first three months I had HORRIBLE cramps along with my period. Now I know this is normal but after 3 months or so they mellowed out but now they are back in full swing.

For some backstory before my IUD I only had one severely bad period mine were never heavy no severe pain associated with them or anything. They were rather easy breezy so I am absolutely not used to this!!

I have an extremely high pain tolerance and have since I was a child because I've always been very accident prone but I am awake at 2:37 A.M currently not being able to go to sleep from the pain and currently I'm not even on my period. I'm due next week so I know it's associated. Also my iud is in the same place it hasn't moved and I'm positive it's not the placement,

With all that being said I love my IUD and it's a small price to pay compared to having to raise a child I'm not ready for nor do I want.

But also some questions plz help

1. WHY does the paragaurd IUD have so much pain associated with it???? I know that it causes increased flow and cramps but how does it cause this does anyone know?

((I've tried to look it up but it's almost 3am and I've been awake since 6 yesterday so I'm sure I'm just missing something))

2. Is it normal for it to cause me pain even when I'm not on my period?? Or could something be wrong? Even simple stomach aches feel more severe after I've had my IUD inserted

3. What in the world are you guys doing to help with the pain?? Most nights I take Motrin and tonight I did but they have not helped.
