I say it depends. 
If I tell my husband, “I went to the store” but don’t tell him which store...it’s not betrayal. 
If I tell my husband, “I’m at a friends house” but I leave out the part about it being a guy because it would upset him...that’s betrayal. 
 There is omission of unimportant details and omission of details to be purposefully shady.

It depends. My best friend came out to me several months ago, but I didn’t tell my SO because she wanted to tell him. Is that omission? Sure...but it’s not betrayal
