So I found out I was pregnant on Friday and since then my mother and nan have been calling me selfish because I don’t want to have an abortion. I am 20 years old and my partner of 4 years just ended things with me so now I’ll be doing this on my own. I would need some help from my mum but I don’t expect her to stop living her life to help me raise my child. The father keeps telling me to consider an abortion and is using the pregnancy as an excuse to have time off work since it’s stressing him out and can’t sleep.

I know it’s not a big deal but what keeps playing on my mind is the thought of being alone forever and raising a child without the possibility of having more.

Are there any young mums out there who went through pregnancy and bringing up the child on their own and eventually found a partner who accepts both you and your child? And how did you find the financial side of things?
