When to take to ER (fever)

My daughter turned 1 this month. She has a fever of 100.9 not acting any different other than her being up at 2 in the morning, wide awake. i dont have any baby tylonel to give her. should I take her to the ER?

Call the nurse advice line. I do when my daughter has a fever. She had a 102.7 fever and they said not to bring her in unless it lasted more than 3 days, didn’t go down with meds, or went above 103.5. 
Going to the ER exposes your baby to all kinds of unnecessary germs plus they don’t have a magic way to bring fevers down. They use Tylenol, just like you would at home (Im an RN in the hospital). 
Give the Tylenol and monitor your baby. Call the nurse advice line too. They’ll ask some questions to rule out an emergency and put your mind at ease 😊

I wouldn't take her to the ER. 100.9 is not considered a high fever. If she is acting fine otherwise, just keep an eye on her and if her temp gets higher (like 104), you could call her doctor or take her to urgent care.

Personally, I would. A year old is still so tiny to have a fever that high.

No that’s just a low grade fever. I would not even treat that with meds- let the fever do its job. If it gets above 102 I would call. Otherwise just try to keep her hydrated and rested.

That's considered a low grade fever, so I'd probably skip the er if she's still eating and drinking and not continuously vomiting. call the pediatrician this morning (I know most are open on Saturdays where I'm at). like it was stated above, the er has nasty germs and is more of a risk.
