Sweep at 39+2... what to expect?

So I have a sweep scheduled for Wednesday when il be 39+2. Has anyone got any advice of what I expect at all? Xx

I didn't sweep this time as it has a 50/50 chance of working and neither time I did before did anything but make me uncomfortable. but of course now at 39+5 weeks everything mkes me uncomfortable.... good luck! may your waters break and bring forth new life and an easy delivery!

It just feels like a lot of pressure like you’re getting checked. It’s not bad. I had one at 39+3 and had my baby at 39+5. Hope it works for you!!

Hi lovely I've had three sweeps now. You might find that they can't reach your cervix the first time if your body isn't quite ready for baby, don't be disheartened I went back 5 days later and it had moved down.  I since had two more but unfortunately my baby is staying put! They can stimulate labor but sometimes not as in my case. The procedure is fine, lots of people say they are painful but mine were just a hit uncomfortable, a bit like a cervical screening test / smear test. Relax and trust your doctor, they have seen and done these a bunch of times, take deep breaths and know that you are doing something positive to bring baby along. You might want to wear a pad for afterwards as I had some light brown spotting. This is completely normal. Good luck and hope your cervix is soft, short and low!
