Men at baby shower?

My mum really wants to plan a baby shower for me, I’m from Ireland and baby showers are only starting to become a big thing here.  Neither of us have ever been to a shower, what really happens at them? I know it’s considered a girly thing, but I would love to have the men in my life there also particularly my partner and my own dad.  Is that weird?

mine was coed so my husband and his family and friends came too.. it helped bring in more people too because I don't have too many friends. We played games ate food and opened gifts:)

We want to do a BaByQ. like a BBQ except it's celebrating the baby, a different version of a Baby Shower. So it would be coed, maybe some crafts, like onesie decorating, or bows if it's a girl. And gifts would be welcome. But mostly just hanging out like at a BBQ would be 😄

ours was coed also. it's just a chill party. we didn't do any games...cheesy imo. lots of food & drinks. the 1 activity we did (which not everyone did) was tye dye onesies of all different sizes. some people open gifts. its becoming more popular to not wrap your gift & just display it so there's more time to socialize

My fiancé is coming along with other men in our families. His family is from away and a few of them I’ve never met. I figured it would be better if he was there too, as I’m sure they will enjoy seeing him. Plus I’ll have him to carry all the gifts to the car 😂
