Going back on birth controlš¤·š½āāļø
Iāve now been off birth control for about 7 months. Previously I was taking the combined pill āMaexeniā for about 2 1/2 years. I loved this pill so much and never had any issues with it, until the end- my blood pressure dramatically increased so I was forced to switch over to a POP pill by my doctor as they said it was no longer safe for me to carry on taking the two hormones my usual pill dosed.
I was actually really upset about the change as I relied on my last pill during the 7 day breaks to signal whether I was pregnant or not because of the bleed. Whereas with the POP pill I didnāt bleed once which really freaked me out because I could never be sure whether I was pregnant or not without taking a test every month which was a pain in the ass.
Anyway the new pill (Cerelle) they put me on made me insanely depressed and my libido diminished which caused strain on my relationship. I decided to stop taking it after about 2 1/2 months because I couldnāt deal with how it made my body feel.
I wanted to allow my body to regain its natural hormones and I read online it can take up to 3 months for a womanās body to scrap the fake hormones from the system and to generate real sex hormones. During these 3 months I didnāt get any periods still due to my body having the pill hormones cycling round, but after 4 months I had my first real period I had had in years (since I was 15).
Iāve now had 2 more since the first period and I personally think my body has had enough time to readjust itself and I want to get back on birth control.
However I have no clue what to do this time as I was a shit pill taker, I would forget about 2 pills then end up taking 3 in one day sometimesš¤¦š½āāļø Some of my friends are on the injection and they say itās amazing as itās a small injection every 3 months in your butt cheek and you donāt have to worry about periods/remembering birth control/babies for as long as you have itš
Now I donāt really mind not having periods, I guess I was just more paranoid a few years ago. And the pill has kind of terrified me because of how down I got on the POP pill. I was just wondering if any ladies had any advice about any of the long-term contraceptive methods and personal experiences with them so I make the right decision?
