24 weeks and cramping?

So I'm about to be 24 weeks and the last few days I've started getting menstrual like cramping. I know it could be Braxton Hicks but I don't remember getting them this early. I thought I was well into my third trimester before I started feeling this cramping. Anyone else having this or know if it's normal. It literally kept me from falling asleep last night from it getting uncomfortable.

I had really intense, painful cramps that I was sure were contractions (they were a tightening that would last 20 seconds every 5 minutes). I went to triage at the recommendation of my doctor and they just blamed it on diarrhea even though I was having regular, normal BMs and didn’t have diarrhea that night lol. The one piece of semi useful advice they gave was that Braxton-Hicks shouldn’t be painful, just a noticeable tightening like you’re tensing your muscles when you work out. I’m 24 weeks today and I can literally never tell what is abnormal because my doctors and nurses say everything is normal no matter what. To the point where I have nightmares about crazy things like a snake biting me and they still send me home without helping me. 😂
