Where I live if you're 16 then you can only consent to sexual acts with someone two years your senior or less (so 16-18). Its like that until you're 18, when you're free to be with whoever unless they're too young. So yeah a 16 year old lying about their age could get someone into a lot of trouble. 
I don't think you should ever lie to get your way. The only time it's ok is if lying about your age gets you out of a bad situation that's differnet. But otherwise lying about your age is  wrong. Plus, if you want a relationship/friendship with someone and you lie about your age they'll eventually find out and lots of people wouldn't want to be around someone that couldn't even tell the truth about their age.
