Birth Control

Is it okay to start my birth control packet a few days early? i'm on my period rn. (or I was..) but since I was going to a party that said there would be a pool I decided to start my packet a little early. I had been on my period for about 4 days and then i took the first pill of the new pack. I've been lightly bleeding since then, it's very small amounts and it's a brownish color.. Is this okay? (starting early and that I'm still bleeding a little)
