norethisterone- a pill

I’m 14 and I’m going on holiday in July and I’m due the week I’m away. My mum has spoken to the doctors and got me an appointment to discuss taking norethisterone. However my mum has told me that after I’ve had the pill my next period will be really bad. I just want opinions and peoples experiences with it. I’ve really been looking forward to this holiday as I’ve been working on my body confidence and don’t want it ruining by my bloody period.
