Stay at Home Mom?

Question

This is our first child and I’m contemplating being a stay at home mom? Pros / Cons advice from the moms that do stay at home. Ideas of what I can do around the house aside from clean / cook? Anyway I can make an income in the comfort of my home? Or what can I do to save my family money?!?

I’ve only been a sahm for 2 months so far and I barely have time to clean and no time to cook. The newborn months are very busy and all my attention goes to my baby. Also, my stance being a sahm is that the child(ren) are my full time job so husband still has to help out around the house with chores and errands. You don’t ask your babysitter to clean your bathroom or go grocery shopping.

I’ve been a sahm for a bit over two years. Early on a newborn occupies all your time but once they are older and you have a sleep/nap schedule down cooking and cleaning becomes easier. I still have enough to do during the day that I couldn’t tackle a stay at home job though unless it was something where you could pick when/how many hours you work.

I’ve been a stay at home for 4 1/2 years and I’ve never worked outside being a mom to my kids. I have personally never had the desire or time. (I have 3 kids now - expecting another!) Financially I am fortunate that we don’t need the extra money. 
I have friends who do online work like VIP kid teachers. And a few other friends who sell things like Scentsy or Lipsense- I’m just not into that kind of thing.
As far as things to do. I keep my house super clean. But is habit at this point, so each day doesn’t require substantial work- just cleaning up as I go. The rest of my time is really just for my kids. They keep my busy enough.
I recommend not taking anything extra on until you’ve been staying at home for a little while. Newborns are exhausting and it’ll take time to establish a routine. Last thing you need is something else on your plate right away.

I have been a stay at home mom for almost 2 years now. At first it was tough but I just made sure to go out and do something every day. I also started my own Etsy store as I make baby blankets, burp cloths and swaddle blankets. It has been the best decision my husband and I have made. I am almost due with baby #2 and I am so excited to stay home with both kids! Let me know if you have any more questions!!

I’ve been a stay at home mom for almost two years (not by choice, my oldest is a very sickly child) at first I cleaned,pre-cooked meals, for the next week just in case I all of sudden didn’t have time or energy to cook, I did laundry and went through old things we didn’t need or use anymore, I made a stock room so I could stock up on things like toilet paper,paper towels, canned goods and things like that. I actually got a lot of things done and finished in our house that we had been work on for months. Now with an almost two year old and a newborn I’m glad I got to do it then and stocked up on things cause I have no time at all to get things done lol,
