When is it ok to start buying baby stuff?

Hi ladies, I'm curious as to when is it ok to start buying baby stuff, such a clothing, bottles etc. culturally I was taught that it's bad luck to buy or gift baby items until the mom to be is at least  6 to 7 months pregnant. What are your thoughts, cultural beliefs, up bringing towards this subject?

Whenever u want! I found out I was pregnant at the beginning of December so bought loads in the Christmas sales when I was only 7 weeks pregnant - stay positive hun :-) xxx

I don't believe in bad luck. I brought some neutral color items around 11 weeks and my hubby's family brought me the crib mattress at 9 weeks because there was a good sale on them😊

With my first I didn't buy anything untill the absolute end. I was so worried I was going to jinx myself. I worry a lot. But with this pregnancy I bought some supper cute dc shoes that were on sale when I was around 18-20 weeks. Then here and there I would buy a few things if it was too good to pass up. I say to have faith, think positive, and enjoy this time!

I was told that telling people or buying things during the 1st trimester is bad luck. As soon as 13 1/2-14 weeks comes you're in the clear. I was just beginning my 2nd trimester when I got my crib and baby is doing just fine.

It's never a right or wrong time to start buying things if your worried about something happening to the baby  it sad to say but it can happen any time during or after a pregnancy so I say just enjoy and buy what you feel is right with my son his whole room was complete by 6 months we had every thing n now it almost the same way jus gotta get a car seat n a few more clothes  I'm so excited I can't help but buy stuff 😍😊😍☺️😍☺️😍☺️😄😄

I'd say a few months from due date to start shopping for clothing at least. That way you get what's right for that season. Now the big stuff, if it's on sale you can't pass on a good deal! Lol

First baby I went shopping after positive home test ( single digit weeks), now at 26weeks I seem to lack that energy. I feel lost since it's been almost 7 years lol . I do not remember what I need or used most. Planing to use internet lists for help, and gitting my list together seems like lotta work 😁. Also I am not sure about the weather in the first 3 months of my baby's life( Oct/ Nov/ Dec) it's differant every year here ugh..

I started as soon as we found out what we were having. My mom started buying diapers even before that. This is our second. Everyone is excited. Start whenever you want!
