so my sister has thought about it and she wants to be my surrogate so where do we get the information for it also would I have to go through what most surrogate go with lawyers and would have to pay my own sister for carrying my own child

You’d still have to pay for the IVF process, which can be anywhere from $10,000-20,000, and isn’t covered by most insurances (definitely not Medicaid). She’s going to have to inject herself with a bunch of hormones to make her uterus ready for a baby, and you’ll have to do the same to make yourself release a bunch of eggs at once. Then once they make the embryo they’ll put it into her. You could bypass the stipend most likely, but if she’s carrying your child I personally feel like it’s only right for you to provide her prenatals, clothes, proper nutrition, etc. That’s what the money is meant for when paying a surrogate (and a little for time and suffering).

Personally, I would sit down with a lawyer just for the legal aspects to protect both you and your sister. I don’t think you “have” to pay her, but there might be a way to help with medical costs- dr visits etc. Definitely talk to a lawyer just to be sure then go to a fertility clinic to get started! does she want to be paid? i thik you should. include a lawyer whether it is or isnt required just incase. can never be too safe even with family. this is your child.
