Bloody chunks in cat’s stool

who knows

So last night I couldnt sleep well. While I was awake in my bed trying to sleep, one of my cat’s Piper (8 months) was in my room and he would try to come to my bed or play around.

When I was partially asleep I started to smell poop and see where it came from and the first thing I saw was that Piper was eating a dead mouse. I am assuming he left for a short period of time to catch it since he has a cat door. But then I noticed that there was poop in the center of the floor but I told myself I’ll get it in the morning.

So I woke up and tried to get the poop out, but I noticed that it was long, black, and had bloody chunks in it. I wondered if it was from the rat’s guts but the poop was there before Piper ate the rat.

And I have another cat named Chloe. She is 10 years old and did have the bad habit to keep pooping in my room or some other private place for a period of time. I know rhat it is a symptom of digestion problems but I didn’t see any other symptoms, so I just thought it was because she is old, she doesn’t like the new cats or my brother’s dog. So now I am wondering if she happened to sneak up in here while Piper was gone for a short period of time.

I want to bring this up to the vet if this is Chloe’s. But I can’t be sure since Piper was in the room for most of the night.

Could bloody chunks in poop come from rat guts? Or is it only for digestion problems? Is there a way for me to tell which cat did it?
