Third time mom but first C-SECTION?

Question

So my due date is July 10 but doc wants to due a C-SECTION on July 3. My last delivery was horrible and traumatizing and he doesn't want that to happen again so we are going to have a C-section. I have never had one, I'm scared of the recovery, I've heard it's excruciating, plus I want to only breastfeed, can I still do that? Anyone else been through this to give me some good stories?

you'll do great. just stay on top of your pain medication. dont be a hero. make sure you have supportive family with you because it is hard to get around the first couple of days. and I wouldnt try and get up until 45 minutes after you take your pain medicine. take stool softeners to help you poop and make sure you eat a little something before you take your pain medicine so you dont tear up your stomach. and you'll be able to breastfeed easy. I double stack pillows on either side to keep my babies off my belly. and drink lots of water to help you pee. the first couple of pees after they remove the catheter is hard to get out but it gets easier with each one.

I had to have a c-section with my 3rd because she was sitting up in my belly. Recovery like after any birth varies. I was more sore and tender in my abdomen for about 2 weeks. I breastfed her after delivery without issues.

I had an Emergency c section with my daughter (now 8) it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Recovery was the same as with my natural delivery with my son (now 11). Every woman is different and every body is different. You can still BF. I couldn’t bc my daughter was a preemie and had matching issues. Hopefully this time around we will be good

I unfortunately have to have c-sections and will be having my 4th this Oct. My body just doesn't allow for vaginal. The recovery is a little longer comparing to an easy vaginal birth, but I have had friends with bad tearing or who hemorrhage badly and their recover was longer. So it really depends.
Breastfeeding is not a problem at all. I was able to start breastfeeding my daughter as soon as we were out of the surgery and into recovery. Now I wasn't able to breastfeed either (because my wonderful body that won't cooperate) but I was given the chance right out of surgery.
My only suggestion is to bring big ugly granny panties. My first daughter was an emergency c-section and I had brought my cute hipsters...lays right across your incision site, so bring the big ugly ones...they don't rub.
