I didnt expect a promise ring before an engagement ring but my partner gave me a promise ring and I was super happy about it

My bf now husband gave me one when I was 18 about to be 19 as a gift. It was really pretty and simple, and mostly to show my parents we were serious about eachother. Ended up getting engaged at 20 and married at 21, so we probably didn’t need one.. But t was a sweet gesture from my husband at the time hahah

I got one in high school but we broke up maybe a year later. For my husband I never got one, but we were in our mid/late 20’s then and promise rings (to us) are more of a younger person thing.
