Military relationships

My boyfriend and I are both in the military and we’ve been talking about having a baby but we’re coming up on a deployment in two years we don’t know the exact place we’re going yet it could be a month to the Philippians or 9 months to a year in more of a combat environment. We really want a baby but it scares me to think we’d be missing out on our child’s first couple big things depending on when we have the baby. I guess what I’m asking is should we just wait for after the deployment or just take a chance now?
