Incomplete heart anatomy scan

Raylene

After four different anatomy scans they are still unable to find the outflow for the right ventricle of the heart at 24 weeks. Doctor stated on the phone they are concerned but not overly concerned. I have to wait until my offical appointment Wednesday to discuss what will be the next steps because they want to discuss options. Anyone else have this happen?

I was born with a congenital heart defect that was a non issue my whole life. Because they’re genetic, I had to also have a fetal echo cardiogram. They have special equipment for them, get a much clearer view of the heart, and the sonographers receive special training that those at your anatomy scan don’t.

I was told yesterday they want me to meet with a pediatric cardiologist because they're not getting good enough views. (I've had 3 anatomy scans as of yesterday.) The first one baby was moving a lot. The second one I don't even remember her focusing much on the heart rather the rest of the anatomy scan. Yesterday I was at a different facility and I was still told they need a better view and the pediatric cardiologist has the equipment. I was told "I'm just not a good person to scan." Looking at the difference in profile pictures between my son and my current pregnancy you can see how less clear it's been. I've gained 30 pounds since having my son so I'm hoping it truly is just me being heavier. I called my actual doctor and will talk to her Monday. I don't go to an apt until July 10th but I need answers now, and from her not a doctor that was in there for 5 minutes. Sorry not much help but good luck. ❤️❤️
