Do you guys believe cheaters can change?

Has anyone ever been cheated on from your significant other & they truly changed. My boyfriend cheated on me during our high school years. However, ever since we started off college he became a completely mature man. We’re currently in our 3rd year of college & ever since he’s been truly loyal. I have my doubts at times because people have that saying, “once a cheater, always a cheater.” Thoughts please?
I also would like to mention that he admit that he cheated on me in the past rather than denying it. He bought me a promise ring a year ago to remind me he’d never hurt me the way he did again.

I think a person who has cheated CAN change, but a cheater cannot. Let me explain the difference. 
I was with a guy who I know cheated on me but he never admitted it. 🙄 I just knew it was happening because he couldn’t keep up with the lies he told, and I’m a smart cookie. ☺️ Anyway, while I was trying to figure out if it was just me being crazy or him being a first class douche, I got in contact with a couple of his exes. They both overlapped (they didn’t know until I worked out the dates) and while he was with the second one he got an STD from ANOTHER girl. 
So there is no way in hell he could change because he is a cheater. 
A person who has cheated, however, is different. They are someone who values loyalty, trust and respect, but they made a bad choice while they were at their weakest due to one of many reasons in their lives; grief, loss, stress, isolation, depression, mental health issues, insecurities, alcohol etc. I’m not saying there is ever an excuse for someone to cheat, but even the most perfect person can make a huge mistake. 
A person who has cheated, can feel such regret for what they’ve done that they never make that mistake again. 
I have never cheated nor would I ever cheat, so I’m not trying to justify anything. But I do believe cheaters will always cheat, but someone who has cheated can cheat once and then be 100% loyal for the rest of their life.

I've been with my SO since we were 15. We both played so many games with each other, and he would cheat and I would do stuff to make him jealous..such as making him believe I was cheating when I really wasnt (stupid..yeah I know, but hey we were idiot kids). 
The last straw for me was when I was 18 and he was cheating on me with some nasty girl. My heart shattered in a million pieces. After that, I changed my number (and we didnt have social media back them) and I quit talking to him all together for a year and a half. I was so broken hearted. He kept trying to contact me...he even wrote me letters to my parents house since he didnt know where I moved to. I dated around and partied hard (clubbing, bars, or house parties nightly, trying to forget the whole situation. 
Anyway, after that year and a half of ignoring him completely, I ran into a friend of his. Something told me after that to reach out to him -- just in a friendly way, to see how he was. He was insanely happy to hear from me. We started talking again, and took it very slow. Now, he is a changed man. He is the best father to our 3 children, he treats me like a queen, and he is LOYAL. He isnt that same idiotic kid he was back then. He matured. I trust him. 
So yes, I think they can change depending on the situation. My SO just had to grow up. We're 31 now, and hes my best friend on top of being the love of my life.

I’d like to believe anyone can change. My boyfriend was a notorious cheater before we dated  and honestly I don’t think I could have dated him 2 or three years ago. He was a different person. Being with him now I couldn’t imagine him being the man he once was; he really matured and I think its Possible. Timing is everything

I was cheated on and promptly ended the relationship. He realized his mistake after a while and did tons of things to turn his life around. He became a different person. That was the only reason I ended up giving him a second chance later. I wouldn't hesitate to leave if he ever did it again, but I believe that people can change. It has to be their idea and they have to put into the work. It can't be something you force them to do, and you don't have to stay in a horrible relationship waiting for someone to change things. I’ve shamefully cheated in the past, but with my husband have never felt the desire to even look or hang out with another guy.  So yes, I believe a cheater can change.

Yes I definitely believe people can change. I had a friend go through that, was cheated on in high school and they worked through it and dated through college. He never cheated again. They broke up for entirely different reasons, but now he’s married and a really great guy. 
The problem is it truly has to be a heart change, and a conscious decision from him to not be that way anymore. It has nothing to do with the woman he is with or cheated with, it has to do with his own personal heart and mind. So with maturity I definitely think a man can change.

Me and my boyfriend got together while in high school. Throughout high school he was a huge cheater. Cheated on every girl he was with and had a kid. While we was talking he was sleeping with his ex because she found out, got jealous, and offered him sex. Everyone told me to stop talking to him and don’t get with him because of the way he was but I’m the type of person that lets people walk all over me and I believe that people can change if the right person believes in them. I’ve now been with him for 2 years and he’s not cheated on me one time or even given me a reason to think he’s cheated on me. He’s a completely different person from when he was in high school.

Yes, I believe they can change but it also depends on their actions while they are changing. My boyfriend & I have been together for almost 2 years. In those 2 years, he has cheated on me 5 times. Nothing like sex or whatever. just dirty talking & kissing, which is still no excuse. He always said it was my fault bc he wasnt getting what he wanted so he went & did that. Honestly, its whatever your gut tells you. Specifically, with my man I know there is a better person deep down & I wont give up until I have no fight left. The only reason he was doing it was bc our communication with each other wasnt good enough. We have fixed that, & he's almost gained all my trust back. I love him to death & I believe thats the reason I fight so hard. But girl, its whatever you feel, its if you feel like your relationship is worth the fight then give him that other chance. If he does it again, then you gave him the benefit of the doubt to trust him enough not to do it again.
