The question was “is cheating a dealbreaker in an otherwise healthy marriage with 4 children involved.. what if this isn’t the first time”

I personally think she’s just making excuses. You can’t stay in an unfaithful marriage all because you vowed for better or worse. Why he a doormat if your partner is taking your vows seriously?

I think she’s forgiven her partner a few times too many and is trying to justify it to herself more than anyone else.

I think everyone needs to make this decision for their relationship and situation, but my marriage could not withstand cheating for a number of reasons.

I've done it once but never again. I understand the vows, but I'm not staying with someone who will disregard me, my feelings, and our relationship. If he doesn't love me enough to communicate his emotions or issues, exposes me to horrible diseases, and worst of all, lies and cons me, then he isn't the person I made my vows to. Cheating is the most selfish thing you can do and it can't be undone.

Nope can't agree with her. If it's a one time thing I can forgive that but it takes A LOT of work. Happens a second time? Over and done. But when you make your vows you remember them and take them seriously.
Infidelity/adultery is against the law in some areas and if it's the military you can get dishonourable discharge. It's the biggest betrayal and the biggest lie.
