Question for the seasoned mothers?

I can’t seem to get rid of my yeast infection and BV it won’t go away and it’s been a year now it’s gotten better since the beginning but I want to stop having them all together. Today I went to the OB/GYN and he gave my Gentian Violet does anyone know if it actually works and why is it blue?
