When does ppd generally end? Also, does recievng bad news right after baby is born prolong it?

Answer

It’s a case by case thing, but as someone who went through it and care out the other side, I can attest that it does get better!
I have never been depressed before, but after my extremely colicky baby was born and my husband was in a terrifying car accident the next day, I was a mess for two months. I went through the motions mechanically and basically felt nothing at all. It was like living in a suffocating cloud. 
For me, things got better when my baby started sleeping through the night. The extra sleep helped my brain and my emotions so much. But for my friend, antidepressants were the answer. If you are having a hard time, I strongly, STRONGLY recommend talking to your doctor or psychiatrist. They can help so much. ❤️
You aren’t alone, and this isn’t forever. I promise it’ll get better.

Sorry you’re still having a tough time! I hope your doc is giving you something. My ob pushed me to go on Zoloft at my first post part in checkup and called to check on me and offer it again after I turned her down. I took her up on it in hopes it’d help with my insomnia. It helped so much.
I was on it for 2 months and then chose to go off, realized I wasn’t quite ready and did another month. Been fine ever since. I was such a hopeless, self-doubting mess the first few months Nd I had a few crazy thoughts and wacky moods that I knew were hormonal and not normal. My mom and my hubby kept a close eye on me which was nice. Hope you’ve got someone by your side momma!!! If not, post all you want on here!❤️
