Preeclampsia second time around??

Question

So I had preeclampsia with my first child- was in labor at 35w2d and found out. Delivered him the next day and he remained in the NICU for almost two weeks. I am also a Type 1 Diabetic but with excellent control during pregnancy.

We are TTC baby no. 2 and I'm super nervous about a repeat of what happened the first time! I read on a medical website that an actual factor that can contribute to preeclampsia is being a first time mom. How many of you had it with one baby and not another? Is there anything that you did differently??

Just curious, I'm a ftm - and my blood pressure is slightly high. My doctors are closely monitoring me, but I don't have preeclampsia or gestational diabetes. You mentioned that you "found out" you had preeclampsia in labor at 35 weeks. How did you find out? Was it because you went early? Or was it something previously missed by doctors? Or did you suddenly develop it?

Didn't have it with our first, had it with our second, and didn't with third.... With our fourth now I am having "slightly" higher readings, but when I get to labor and delivery it's perfect. So I am doing the 24 hour urine test...  Get ready to do that with each trimester for each baby! Haha!

Had it with my first and not second or third. What I did differently is move!! With my first I barely got off the sofa! Now having to chase around 3 kids I'm sure I won't get it this time either ;) just go for a walk every day or other day and you should be fine.
