Pinch the skin where you're injecting, inject the medicine very very slowly like barely moving it.. that slow, slowly release the pinched skin after I injecting. you can also try icing the area before injecting as well! injecting it super super slow helps a ton with the burning and help you not bruise as much!!

I use an ice pack for 20 minutes before doing the shot and make sure you have a really good pinch of fat before trying to insert the needle. Sometimes I will sort of scrunch my belly to be able to get a good pinch. Do every part of it as soon as you can! Insert the needle as slow as you need and when you start the injection, don't worry about just getting it done. If it starts to burn, stop injecting for a few seconds and relax (obviously not removing the needle, just stop pushing the plunger thingy). Don't tense up your body, especially when it starts hurting; close your eyes and take deep belly breaths and sometimes it even helps to not watch yourself push the medicine in.
Before someone else says to try injecting in your leg/arm/butt or wherever else (since someone ALWAYS does), DO NOT DO THAT. It might hurt a little less but the instructions from the people who made the medicine are very clear it should only be in your stomach fat and it is dangerous for you to do it anywhere else for several reasons.

I also give myself those shots each day while pregnant (almost 35 weeks now). I just lightly pinch the skin and go for it, but still get sore and bruised (ouch). I had a friend that put ice on the area before giving herself the injection, and she still bruised, but I think it helped with the pain. Just keep reminding yourself that it’s all for your baby. I am supposed to give my last injection tomorrow because my dr wants me to stop, and I can’t say that I’ll miss those things

I have found it to be more painful the bigger my belly has gotten. I used to be able to pinch skin well and if I grab a spot now that is thick the needle instantly causes bleeding. It takes me more time now at 17 weeks (6th pregnancy - hopefully 3rd healthy baby). Sometimes going in at an angle works better for me too. I also have noted I have to keep the syringe still and not turn it or I will get a bad blood blister. I inject below the belly button too. Icing the area right away for 10 minutes helps a lot too.
