Sorta trying to conceive

Good morning.

I’m already a mother to a son. He’s 4. He’s been asking for a sibling for the past year in a half. Last week was my ovulation week. My boyfriend and I aren’t trying to conceive but there’s a possibility that I might be pregnant. I’m eager to find out if I’m having baby #2. My baby fever is so strong and I would love another child. Last of ovulation was June 24th 2018 when do you guys suggest I take a test and what test is recommended for detecting pregnancy early?

P.S it would make my boyfriend really happy if I am pregnant. This would be his first child.
