I started my new job 5 weeks ago, and found out I was pregnant around the same time.

Beforehand, I have PCOS, was told it would be difficult, took Metformin, it made me ill so after a while me and husband thought we would just focus on our careers until we were ready to try with medical support.

I then got this job which was a step up for me. 🙌🏼🙌🏼 then I started the job and had to get prepped mentally for another huge step up into motherhood!

On Friday I nervously told my boss. I expected him to be annoyed and I’d heard so many bad stories so I braced myself.

He clapped with joy. He actually said this good news had ended his week on a good note, and not to worry about anything, in fact to tell him if I felt tired or needed a break. I had told him about how difficult it was after trying for two years. And, he shared my excitement of finally being able to be excited (just got past the 12 weeks). I walked out of the meeting like, wow good people and good organisations do exist and are out there. This is a large organisation, had it been a small one I don’t know how things would go, but knowing my last company, it would have been okay, too.

I wanted to share this because beforehand, I was so nervous, and I know I won’t be the only one in this situation. Often posting “what do I doooo” type posts then deleting them. So if anyone is in the same position, it’s not always bad! 🙌🏼👶
