I'm not an Amy Schumer fan, I just don't particularly enjoy most of her comedy and the way she tells it. Just not my style. But this article made me extremely upset! The author compares her to Donald Trump because she has made several jokes about Mexicans. But the issue I see is, why is it ok and funny for comedians of color like George Lopez and Chris Rock to made the same type of racial stereotypical jokes, but no one says anything? Don't get me wrong, I think Geroge Lopez is hilarious, I am half Mexican and by no means am offended by any of Amy's jokes, because she is a comedian. If comedians didn't use racial jokes, that would be fine, but why are we persecuting one popular white woman because she is using the same jokes that hundreds of comedians have used before her? Personally, I feel like as long as you're joking about everybody, yourself included, it's ok. I realize some people disagree with that and think race jokes aren't ever funny. What are your thoughts?
