I'm 270 lbs 5'7. Have others had healthy pregnancies with approachable OBGYN at this weight?

My husband and I have been together for 14 years. We are deciding in our 30s (yes we have been together 1/2 our lives) that we want children. We both have graduate degrees with stable careers and a home, but now I'm concerned my weight will be a target for problems conceiving and negative experiences with an OBGYN or fertility specialist. I am currently finding a new doc, as I just moved to a new city. Any insight will be helpful.

I'm 5'5" and I was 270 when we started trying to conceive. We didn't succeed in September (I'm pretty sure I ovulated late) but we did succeed October. I'm due any minute and I've only gained 5lbs. I've had a perfectly healthy pregnancy, great vitals, no concerns or complications. Baby has measured perfectly too. My first OB was focused on my weight, and talked down to me (she wasn't a small human, so she found her way onto that hypocritcal high horse..) frequently. I couldn't stand her, did my hospital tours early (17 weeks) and got lists of OBs that deliver at the hospital of choice. Looked up the Doctors, chose one, and she's been my OB ever since. Never has she been concerned about my BMI/size in this process. She's been a great cheerleader for our health. The 5th is my due date, and I'm just waiting at this point. Goodluck to you!

Two healthy pregnancies with midwife care and I was quite a bit heavier than 270. Had no problem getting pregnant either.

Well, I’m 5’3 278lbs and this is my second pregnancy. The first one ended in miscarriage but it was an issue with my baby’s chord. We are carefully monitoring the flow in this pregnancy but I tend to carry my weight in my butt and hips so I hope I don’t explode this go round. Last pregnancy I got to 27weeks and no one could even tell I was pregnant. Doc doesn’t want me to gain more than 10lbs I’m just praying I don’t gain that

I was 250 and I'm 5'7 and I had no problems conceiving my first(missed the pill one time) but the obgyn I went to was EXTREMELY rude. Telling me at 18 that I will have a horrible pregnancy and my baby will have defects and all sorts of things you should just never say. Found a midwife and she was so much better. Was always very considerate when addressing my weight, especially when I gained 50+ while pregnant. My son is perfectly healthy, I had a relatively easy pregnancy, no complications to speak of. From personal experience with #1 and #2, the midwives I found were so much better than the mean old man telling me I'm too fat to do anything right. I'm currently 275 and TTC #3, only been trying for about 2 months now. Ovulating in a couple days so wish me luck! And good luck to you momma, baby dust ❤️❤️

got pregnant with my son i wwighed about 260 by the end i wieghed 305 😩. i had no issue concieving him(missed 1 day of bc lol) my doctor did tellvme otd be healthy to lose weight and not to eat for 2. but she was never rude. im currently ttc baby number 2. i weigh roughly 280 now. it's been really hard to lose the weight since my son but ive been working it at it everyday! it really is a journet! i don't think you will have any issues :) baby dust to you
