Hormone balancing methods

The last year has been a very stressful one and as most people know, stress can do a lot of unwanted changes to the mind and body. My activity level has been much less than usual until very recently, my work/parenting/schooling has been at a all time high, and dealing with other everyday relationship and usual life stresses has made it hard to focus on my personal well being. I have been experiencing heavier than usual periods, a low sex drive (all of the time but most of the time), and lower motivation and energy. I have started to be more physically active ( I have a ways to go), I have been eating much healthier plant based foods, I have been meditating, and taking Maca powder.

I have one child just over 2 years old and my boyfriend and I are hoping to try for number 2 in the very near future. I will only feel ready when my body feels more balanced and I believe my hormones are imbalanced.

Has anyone had a similar experience and been able to naturally increase libido or balance hormones without conventional medicine? I would love to hear what was successful for you!

Also, holistic medicine and healing with foods/herbs is very important to me and I made a personal decision to not use conventional medicine for most health concerns especially involving hormones.
