Tdap shot ?

Im 36 weeks pregnant and was informed it’s recommended for all pregnant women to get the TDap shot. Has anyone got it? Was there any side effects ?

Got mine. Only side effect was a sore arm for a few hours. I’ll take a sore arm over burying my baby!

I refused to get one. my OBGYN said that they cannot confirm or deny it causes any problems. since there can't be a positive link (because there is absolutely no possible way to control every single aspect of anyone who gets the shot in studies and trials) then it's considered "safe". it only increases immunization by a small percentage  (I don't remember off hand but my OBGYN told me the number). So I refused. while I don't want a "dead" baby, a lot if other things out of my control could harm my child just as easily as my decision not to have the shot.

I just got mine at 29 weeks. Was told it's recommended for all pregnant women to get one now. Every time you get pregnant. Arm was sore for 2 days, no other side effects noted. Recommended SO gets one as well

No no no! Please do your research before deciding to do this! No vaccines have been tested on pregnant women because it is considered inhumane to do so

You should definitely get this vaccine! Baby can get an immunoresponse through your antibodies while pregnant. Anyone who comes into contact with baby before 8 weeks should get the vaccine too. Our health dept does them for $10. We had us obviously get the vaccine as well as all the grandparents who came down to visit before he was old enough to get his own. Whooping cough is no joke. My only side effect was a sore arm as well, but for a full list I would talk to your doctor.

I had mine at 28 weeks, sore arm, nausea (some vomiting) and headache- lasted for about a week and a half. Doctor said it was just my body reacting to it like any other vaccine.

I was hesitant and didn’t want to get it. But I figured I’d rather have my baby get some of the antibodies from me getting the shot to protect her when she is born. My doctor told me there has been no reports of negative effects on baby’s from the shot. It’s your call though do what you think is right.your arm will hurt thought. Mine hurt for like 3 days. Get everyone who will be around baby to get tdap also.
