Strip membranes??

So im 39w4d FTM and I have a Drs apt tomorrow at 9:30am and I was wondering if baby doesn't start to feel like he's coming, should I ask my Midwife to strip my membranes? (she delivers at the hospital) Do you think she would? How long does it take? Does it really work? Or should I ask to schedule an induction? (idk how any of this works) She hasn't brought up a thing about it and I really want to try and get baby here before the weekend. My hubby doesn't work the 4th and he can only get 2 days off for the baby.. so I'm desperate. Should I call her office and ask before hand so she's prepared? TIA!💙 UPDATE: I called and asked if they could strip my membranes and it's against their insurance policy to strip FTMs before 41 weeks so we'll just have to wait and see how I'm doing by tomorrows appointment! Wish me luck!
