Congestion & swallowing air

Hi everyone!

The last couple of days my baby girl has sounded congested on and off, mostly when she’s eating. I can also hear her swallowing air when she is bottle feeding, which may be the cause of the congestion (getting fluid into her nasal passages?).

Wondering if any of you have had experience with this and if there’s anything I can do to alleviate the congestion, or avoid it. Also, I think swallowing all of that air is probably giving her some gas trouble as well.

My baby will be 3 weeks old tomorrow (Tuesday) and we have been breastfeeding but having to supplement with donor milk via Dr Brown’s bottles. We are also using the preemie nipples for a slower flow, per our LC’s recommendation.
