My July baby birth story!💙

Amber

Checked in for induction at 5am today at 38weeks, 3 days. Started my pitocin at 5:45am, 3 centimeters dilated and 70% effaced.

By 8:30am we were at a 5 and almost fully effaced. Wasn’t really feeling much in regards to contractions yet but they were coming consistently 2 minutes apart from the time I checked in even before the meds. Because I was making pretty fast progress doc asked if I wanted to get ready for an epidural. I said sure and my nurse got my fluids started.

Doc came back an hour later to do my epidural and I was now a 7. Starting to feel the contractions more. Epidural took about 3 minutes to get all in place. Not bad at all. After about 4 more contractions lessening in pain I couldn’t feel anything but pressure.

Nurse came back about 2 hours later to check me again and I was at 9 and completely effaced. She sat me up to get him moved down the rest of the way. About 11:30 at this point. About 15 minutes later we tried a couple practice pushes and I was making progress so she started to get everything ready and called doc.

Let a few contractions pass and get me all the way to 10. Now about noon-12:15. Started pushing actively and at 12:23 he was here. Absolutely no tearing or episiotomy required.

Bentley Lenny came into the world 9lbs 7oz, 22inches long. Couldn’t ask for a more perfect baby boy😍💙🐘
