First time moms: did you have to be induced?

Question

Did you have to be induced for your first child? Or did you go into labor naturally? I’m 22 weeks pregnant with my first baby and kinda want to get an idea of what other ftm’s have gone through. Thanks!

My water broke at home on its own and they gave me 12 hours for contractions/labor to start but it never did. So I had to be induced. I had my daughter 36 hours after my water broke.

I was 3 days overdue but didn’t want to be induced so I waited and she came out when she was ready. 34 hrs of labor though and 2 pushing but gave birth vaginally, which is what I wanted.

I haven’t given birth yet but I’m being induced at 39+2 if I haven’t gone into labor naturally due to mental health. I kind of hope that I don’t need to be induced, but I’ll just be happy to get baby OUT. (Love her, can’t wait to meet her, but hate being pregnant!)

I went into labor naturally 7 days late (in the middle of the night. Night 6/day 7) and baby arrived the next day (8 days late after 37 hours of labor). I was scheduled to be induced on the 8th day- so my little dictator made sure to start his exit last minute to continue to be in control! 
Most women go overdue with their first. Most don’t go more than a week though. If you get to two, that’s when they really try to talk you into induction as major issues can arise. It’s obviously better to go natural as baby and body are ready, but I wasn’t going to go more than 8 days. My baby was born 10.2 pounds and 22.5 inches long. Huge! So waiting any longer would’ve been bad. I’m still shocked a c-section wasn’t required. Definitely be ready for an early or on time birth, but don’t get set on your due date being “the day”. Every day you go past your due date seems like an eternity, but it’ll happen. Early, late, on time- it’s coming :) 
(I also want to add that going late doesn’t mean your baby will be huge. My baby was going to be huge even if I was early or on time. Obviously, he wouldn’t have been THAT huge as they grow quickly at the end, but we just had a big guy cooking in there. I know many women who go as late or later and still only have 6-8 pounders. I wanted to add this so you don’t panic thinking going overdue means your baby will be huge. The majority are 6-8 pounds even overdue!).
