Am I being overly sensitive?

I'm going to preface this by saying that AF is visiting right now... My fiancé & I went to our best friend's house for dinner tonight. His best friend & my best friend are married, so it's really cool that we can all hang out! His friend made a comment to the effect that "if you wait till you're 38, I'll give you $1000". Earlier in the evening we were talking about our wedding, which we haven't set a date for yet. This comment bothered me for the rest of the night. When we got home I asked my fiancé if I understood this comment correctly & he told me to blow it off. I'm sorry, your friend is going to offer you $1000 to put our wedding off for 5 more years?!?!?! I'm not going to just blow it off! It really hurt me that the comment was made in the first place & then that much more when my fiancé told me to let it go... Am I just being overly sensitive, or would you be upset if you were in my shoes?
