To induce or not to induce...

My OB recommended inducing at 39 weeks since baby boy is measuring in the 97th percentile, but says its up to us if we want to let him come on his own. Currently 38 weeks 2 days.

I'm on the fence. Any suggestions? Experiences? Advice?

EDITED TO ADD: This is my second baby. My first was average sized(and measured that way during the whole pregnancy) and came on his own at 39 weeks 3 days.
