Best diaper for newborn ?

I want to stock up on diapers for my baby due in August but idk what the best kind is. Any opinions?

Honestly there’s gonna be so many mixed reviews cause every baby is different. What we did was get a pack of pampers, Huggins and seventh generation diapers to test out what worked for her. Same with creams and wipes. Then once we find what works for babe, we will stock up!

I recommend trying several different brands because everyone is so different. We ended up liking Luvs the best as they’re very inexpensive and I found as high quality as the best brands (for fraction of the cost) up until around 9-10 months. Once he became super active they didn’t hold up anymore. They’d rip open from him falling on his butt so much learning to walk. It saved us lots of money to use them as long as possible though. Now we use huggies little movers as they’re made for very active little movers and don’t rip open. I find pampers cruisers are just as good but a bit more expensive. My biggest advice though really is about size. Newborn diapers usually only go up to 10 pounds. Our baby was over ten pounds at birth and never fit into newborn size. Have some size 1’s stocked up. Even if your baby is small at birth, you will eventually need them so they won’t go to waste.

I wouldn't stock up honestly. get a little variety and exchange what you decide not to use if unopened. I had bought a bunch of huggies and had to exchange them all for pampers bc my sons scrawny little legs were too small and he peed right out the leg hole as a newborn. also babe could have skin irritation from certain kinds I tried a differ brand that my aunt and uncle gave us and he got a rash on his pubic bone so I gave them to a coworker to try.

each baby I've tried different brands to see what works best for my baby. my first two were the same, but now they can't use that brand with out getting a rash. I'm expecting my third in October and will be trying different bands again.

I wouldn’t stock up. I got tons of diapers from people and almost all were newborns, and my baby was so big at birth he didn’t fit into newborns at all. So we wasted several boxes :/ get smaller packages first to see what works best, like pampers, luvs, huggies. Every baby is different!

Just my opinion, but any diaper with the ‘wetness indicator strip’ is a plus. I had Huggies in the hospital that had this. It was great for my hazy, half sleep moments to be able to just look and see if she needs a change. Definitely not required...just a little plus. 😉

There’s no ‘best’. you should buy small packs of different kinds to see what baby is okay with. My son immediately couldn’t use huggies.. bad rash on his back and booty. Pampers, luvs and parents choice are the ones that work for him, no rash. We use parents choice.

I would just order samples from different companies. They’ll gladly send you them. I got samples from Honest, Seventh gen, bambo, naty, pampers, and huggies. Honest I had to pay shipping but that was it. The rest I either emailed and asked or it was in my target registry bag or amazon baby box! We did this with my first daughter to see what worked, and I did it again for this LO.
