What is it like having a toddler and newborn?

Just had my first baby a few months ago and I really want my kids to be close in age so they can grow up close. I wanted to try for another after my little one turns one. I wanna know some of your experiences to see if this is really for me or if it would be best for me to wait longer.

Let’s see. I have three kids. 3yo, 21 month old and a 4 month old. My kids are 16 months and 18 months apart in age. 
Honest? The first two were easy. Once the routine was set it was no biggy. Now that baby 3 is here I have moments where I lose my mind 😂. 
My 3 yr old tries to help take care of the baby. Give him his binky or tries to feed him or tries to help me pump. His newest thing is he wants to change diapers. 
Occasionally my 21 month old tries to help. Usually it’s by giving the baby his binky. 
If you aren’t a fan of the “cry it out” method then you may want to wait. Bc regardless of how perfect of a mother you are someone is going to have to CIO at some point about something. You could be changing the older ones diaper and the newborn will start crying... they just have to cry. Nursing the newborn and the older one may fall or want more drink... they have to CIO. It breaks my heart but I try to comfort them as best as possible and give as much attention as possible. 
The first few weeks are beyond hard. Sleep deprivation and screaming newborn/toddler.... ugh it’s miserable but then you get a routine going. Day/night confusion gets better then it just clicks and your like “dude... easy...”  
My boys love each other so much it’s cute. I’m so glad they are close in age just for that fact. I’m currently 4 months PP and plan to add our 4th as soon as I get pregnant again.... then be done! 😂

Do IT!!! They will be best friends. Ok ok.. not all of the time but, you are right! They will be close. I have a 7yro son and a 6 yro son ( 14 months apart). And now we are expecting #3 and I hon wish I would have done this like 3 years ago. Just have a routine and you will be fine! I LOVE that my boys are so close. I’m thinking about having #4 next year just to make a bestie for #3 😂

My younger babies are 14mos apart and I love how great they get along. They synchronized and slept, ate and pottied on the same schedule. They were similar in size and even now I still get asked if they’re twins (they’re 5 & 6 almost 6 & 7) I wish I could do it again but my oldest is 11 and I’m about to be 30 so I’m done lol but if we had tried sooner I would totally do it again.

its a lot of hard work but it does it easier. I had help and after awhile I got into a routine and things just fell into place

I have a 3 month old and just started watching my 6 year old nephew and 2 year old niece again after maternity leave. It’s rough to begin with but you get a schedule down. I definitely don’t plan to jump into baby making again just yet 😅.

DONT DO IT!!. I did it... my son is 2 my daughter is 6 months.... it’s not fun! I love them both though regardless
